Polycarbonate (English abbreviation PC), also known as PC plastic; It is a high polymer containing carbonate group in the
molecular chain. According to the structure of the ester group, it can be divided into aliphatic, aromatic, aliphatic-aromatic and other types. The low mechanical properties of aliphatic and aliphatic aromatic polycarbonate limit their application in engineering plastics.

The main advantage:

1. Mechanical properties: high strength and elastic coefficient, high impact strength, good fatigue resistance, good dimensional stability, small creep (there is little change under high temperature conditions), high transparency and free staining;
2. Heat resistance aging: wide range of use temperature, enhanced UL temperature index up to 120~140ºC (outdoor long-term aging is also very good);
3. Solvent resistance: no stress cracking;
4.Water stability easy to decompose in high temperature water use caution in high temperature and high humidity environment

      Modified use of polycarbonate The purpose of polycarbonate modified PC is to toughen, improve molding and processing performance, reduce residual deformation, increase flame retardancy, etc. The specific varieties of PC that can be modified are: PC/ABS can improve the bending mold quality, heat resistance, plating performance, etc.PC/PET and PBT can improve chemical resistance, solvent resistance, etc.Adding organic glass to PC/PMMA can improve the pearlescent color of the appearance.PC/PA and HIPS can improve impact toughness and surface finish.PC/HDPE can improve boiling water resistance, aging resistance, and weather resistance, while LDPE has poorer effects.PC is reinforced and modified with glass fiber or carbon fiber to improve mechanical strength.Combining bromine flame retardants and antimony trioxide can make flame retardant PC.Others can be blended and modified with polysulfone, aromatic polycarbonate, polyoxymethylene, polypropylene, and polystyrene to achieve a balance between economy and performance.
